 Here are a few recipes* that are likley to be a big hit at an informal bridal shower...

 Crab  Dip
                                                1/2 cup mayo                            1/2 cup sherry
                                                2 tbls. mustard                          salt and pepper
                                                1 tbls. powdered sugar             1 pound crab meat
                                                 24 ounces cream cheese
                                                1tsp. chopped onion
Combine all the ingredients but the sherry in the top of a double boiler and heat until creamy.  Add sherry to taste.
Creamy Jello Salad
                                                1 large can crushed pineapple,    1 (8 ounce) package Cool Whip
                                                    drained                                   Nuts
                                                2 cups cottage chees
                                                1 large package of Jello
                                                    (apricot or lime)

                                                Mix all ingredients together.  Serves 6 to 8

 Chicken Broccoli Casserole
                                                 1 pound boneless chicken       1 tbls. lemon juice
                                                      breasts                              1/2 cup grated Colby Jack cheese
                                                  1 package frozen broccoli      1/2 cup Italian bread seasoning
                                                  3/4 cup mayo                         1 tbls. melted butter
                                                  1 can cream of chicken
                                                       soup
Brown chicken: steam broccoli and drain.  Grease a 11x17 inch pan.  Place chicken  on bottom.  Cover chicken with broccoli.  Combine mayo, soup and lemon juice.  Spoon over broccoli.  Sprinkle with mixture of cheese, bread seasoning and melted butter.  Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes and serve.  Add sauteed mushrooms for added  flavor and serve with French bread. Serves 6.
Individual Cherry Cheesecakes
                                                    1 package cream cheese          2 eggs
                                                    1/2 cup sugar                           vanilla wafers
                                                    1 tbls. vanilla                            1 can cherry pie filling
                                                    dash of salt                               1 package tiny cupcake liners
                                                    1 tbls. lemon juice
 
 Beat cream cheese until fluffy; gradually add sugar, lemon juice, vanilla and salt.  Add eggs, one at a time; beat mixture after adding each egg.  Place on vanilla wafer in the bottom of each tiny cupcake liner.  Add mixtrue.  Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until set. Cool and Chill.  Top each cup with a cherry from the cherry pie filling.
