Business Economics Track

Course Requirements

FIN-630: Financial Analysis: Concepts and Applications
ITEC-618: Applied Production and Operations Management (1.5 credits)
MKTG-632: Fundamentals of Marketing
Twelve credit hours of electives in economics.
Four and a half credit hours of electives in business.

A typical program for full time students beginning in the fall semester is as follows:

Note that the department offers a limited number of courses in the two summer terms (May-June and July-August). Taking courses in the summer may allow you to finish a semester early or take fewer courses each semester.

 

Choosing Electives in the Financial Economic Policy Track

In addition to your seven required courses in economic theory, econo-metrics, and business, you take an additional 16.5 credit hours of course work to complete your degree requirements—twelve credit hours in eco-nomics and four and a half credit hours in business. In consultation with your adviser, you choose courses in which you are interested and that make up a coherent program of study.

IBUS-610: International Business Analysis (1.5 credits)
IBUS-747: Doing Business in Different National and Cultural Environments (1.5 credits)

MGMT-615: Legal, Ethical, & Social Issues in Business (1.5 credits)
MGMT-633: Leading People and Organizations
MGMT-634: High-Performance Teams (1.5 credits)

Electives in Economics (12 credit hours from the following)

There is a wide variety of courses offered by the Economics Department of interest to business economics students from which you can choose. Below are some suggested electives, but you may find other courses more appropriate. Discuss with your adviser any course that you think may be of interest.
