Nadia Harris, Associate Professor

Born and raised in Istanbul where she attended French schools, Professor Harris completed most of her undergraduate work in French literature at the Sorbonne. She holds a master's in French literature and linguistics and a PhD in French literature and government from Georgetown University. Elizabeth Lang, Instructor

Elizabeth Lang has taught at AU since 1991 and now coordinates the intermediate French program in LFS.  Her primary interest is in political, economic, social and cultural issues in Francophone Africa, and international development. She does extensive freelance translation, interpretation, and writing/editing for a number of African embassies in Washington and for Africa-related NGOs.

A native speaker of French, Professor Rodamar's research interests include 16th- and 17th-century French literature, the history of ideas, international studies, and language teaching and methodology. Her publications include articles on Montaigne, including "La Logique de Port-Royal et Montaigne" in Romance Quarterly, and articles on technology and education, and language education assessment and accountability. Josette Wisman, Associate Professor

Professor Wisman's research interests include Medieval and Renaissance literature, French language, civilization and history. Her dissertation highlighted the nascent humanism of the 15th century as seen in France's first professional woman writer, Christine de Pizan. (Read more)
