Phi Beta Kappa members: apply for
Walter J. Jensen Fellowship for 6-month study in France by Oct 1

The French faculty offer diverse courses on the French language and francophone literature and culture. Courses range from elementary level to topics courses, and students can choose from several major and minor programs. Major programs include French Studies, which focuses on language and culture integrating topics from around the francophone world; French/European Studies, which is an interdisciplinary program integrating French courses, as well as area studies courses from other AU departments; and Foreign Language and Communication, which is an interdisciplinary program incorporating courses in both LFS and the School of Communication. Minor programs include both French Language and French/European Studies. Additionally, the department offers translation certificates that can be incorporated in our majors, or be taken separately.
