Analysis 1 -- Fall 2011
Results for Exam 2
Overall the class did a good job on exam 2. I will be
handing back the graded papers on Wednesday 11/2.
The histogram below shows all of the scores (with half points
rounded up) for the exam. It
shows, for example, that one student scored a 99, one scored a 98, and
1/2 of the class had scores at or above 90.
The second histogram shows each student's average for the first two
exams. At this point, based only on exam scores, just
about everyone is on track to earn something in the A or B range.
You can
find
your individual score posted on Blackboard. Contact
me if you need assistance accessing that. PLEASE review the score
posted for you on blackboard and confirm that it is the same as what
appears on your exam paper. If they are not the same, let me know.
Was the Exam Too
Long?
I have the impression that it was a little long, but on the other
hand, most students did about as well on this exam as on the previous
one. To be specific, 6 students scored higher on this exam than
on the first, another 4 scored lower by less than a point, and 3 scored
lower by between 4 and 9 points. I want to know what you
think about this. Please go to the anonymous comments forum on
blackboard and give me your reactions to the test overall, and in
particular, indicate whether you feel your performance was
significantly affected by the length of the exam.
Exam Corrections.
Everyone who scored below 95 is again asked to prepare a set of exam
corrections, due
Wednesday 11/9. For detailed instructions, please see this webpage.
