11/16/09
Here is assignment 7.  It is based on the computer activities we did in class.  Here is the packet for the computer activities, but to complete it you need the software, and you'll have to get that from me.

I have posted information about the results from exam 3.

We .  No one seems to have understood the point of problems 8-11 on homework 5.  Here is one student's paper with a very clear explanation of how the new sets were defined for each buddy system.  This student's answer to the final question on number 11 is incorrect, but I wrote in an explanation at the end.

On Monday we worked on the Pie Palace of Pythagoras.  Thursday we will go on to a packet on the Pythagorean Theorem.  You will need your activity kit that came with the book for that, so remember to bring it to class.  Also see this related webpage.  Finally, here is assignment 5.  It is due for discussion Monday and for collection the following Thursday.

We will have our next exam this Thursday, 10/8/09.  Some review information has been posted here.  On Monday, we will continue to work through the packet from last week.  To make sure everyone is ready to start at the same point, please try to finish everything preceding the section titled Hotel Infinity.  We'll begin by going over any questions you have on the packet up to that point.
