Combined
BS/MS in Mathematics
and
Computer Science
Students receive a BS in Mathematics and an MS in Computer Science.
Note:Admission is open to undergraduate mathematics majors with a minimum grade point average of 3.20. Applicants must have completed the following by the end of the junior year:

Introduction to Computer Science II (3)
CSC-520 Algorithms and Data Structures

Degree and Major Requirements
- A total of 89 credit hours of course work
- An approved tool of research
- Comprehensive examination
- Thesis option: 6 hours of CSC 797 Master's Thesis Seminar
in Computer Science and an oral defense of the thesis
or
- Nonthesis option: 6 hours of research courses as approved
by the department
Course Requirements
- All requirements
for the BS in Mathematics. Undergraduate students may apply for 6 credit hour of approved 500-level course work to satisfy the requirements of both degrees.
- All requirements
for the MS in Computer Science including a minimum of 24 credit hours completed in residense in graduate status after the undergraduate degree has been awarded.
