| Professor
Blank's research interests include the sociology of culture; science
and technology, especially the social impact of computing and electronic
networks; qualitative and quantitative methods; social change, especially
social movements; and artificial intelligence. Dr. Blank earned
his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1999, and joined the faculty
of the American University Department of Sociology in the Fall of
1999. He has published several works, including New Technology
in Sociology: Practical Applications in Research and Work with
J. McCartney and E. Brent, and has co-authored Desktop Data Analysis
with SYSTAT with L. Wilkinson and C. Gruber.
