A Message from the Vice Provost for Graduate Studies and Research

Research plays a central role in the mission of American University. The talented faculty members who come to AU from all over the world bring with them a wealth of knowledge, creativity and curiosity, which means that they continue to learn and grow professionally for all of their years at AU. Students at AU are enriched by the ongoing research being carried out by the faculty, and opportunities for faculty-student collaboration are frequent.

The Office of Sponsored Programs is committed to reducing the administrative burden on faculty, administrators and staff by providing efficient, effective and personal service. In addition, OSP serves to safe-guard the University by ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations, policies and procedures. The staff of OSP has a strong base of knowledge and skills regarding both pre-award and post-award processes, and is available to facilitate the process of research administration for the AU community.
