Description:

Dame Paulines distinguished career spans diplomacy and business. She was a career diplomat and served as Chairman of the UKs Joint Intelligence Committee, Head of the Defence and Overseas Secretariat in the Cabinet Office, and as Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet. From 1994 until her retirement in 1996, she was Political Director in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, in which capacity she led the British delegation to the Dayton negotiations on the Bosnia peace settlement. She was also a governor of the BBC and chairman of Qinetiq. She is a member of the International Commission on the Balkans.
