The event will open with an analysis of the recent events in France, followed by a discussion of the broader issues of race and racism in Europe. A period of questions and answers will follow. No RSVP necessary.
Professor Lusane is an expert in international race politics and human rights. His research has included the study of global race relations, the experiences of the African people in the Nazi Era, as well as the role of African Americans in US politics. Professor Schneider’s research is focused on social movements, political violence, comparative policing, urban politics and racism in Latin America, the US and Europe. Her current work focuses on crime wars and racial intolerance in Paris and New York.
