The American Consortium on EU Studies
ACES Working Paper Series The American Consortium on European Union Studies (ACES) is a consortium of five universities officially designated as an EU Center in the United States by the European Commission, Brussels. ACES members consist of American University, Georgetown University, George Mason University, The George Washington University and The Johns Hopkins University. The ACES Working Paper Series is made possible with the support of the European Commission, Brussels and other funds raised by ACES. Who Is Eligible : All ACES faculty and qualified researchers from other D.C. academic institutions, the private sector, and international and multinational organizations are eligible. Applicants are encouraged to submit collaborative and/or multidisciplinary proposals. Eligible Research Topics : Theory-and policy-oriented research with an emphasis on the European Union, its member states, US-EU transatlantic relations and other contemporary EU-related issues. The ACES multidisciplinary focus encourages analysis and policy dialogue of these topics in a variety of fields, including political science, economics, business, finance, law, science and technology, public health and others. Topics include but are not limited to:
Funding : Awards will be given to the author(s) of each working paper selected. The number of awards will depend on the availability of funding in any given year. For AY2004-05, an award of $300 will be given for the selected working paper. Proposal Requirements : 1. Cover page with title, contact information, affiliation of author(s), and date of submission. 2. Completed Working Paper (in final draft stages) containing the following:

Dissemination : The submitted working papers will be made available to ACES and its participating University communities and the general public through the Internet and/or in the form of printed copies under the name of ACES and its participating universities. Authors may submit their research to other publications.
