Eagles Tie Butler for Third at Bullock Collegiate Classic
Chris Schieffer shoots 73 on last round

Chris Schieffer fired a 73 to finish tied for eighth at the Bullock Collegiate Classic.

FAIRBORN, Oh. - American University tied Butler for third after both schools shot final round team scores of 302, and finished with identical team scores of 900 at the Bullock Collegiate Classic. Chris Schieffer (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum) shot a 75 in the first round this morning, and then improved to a 73 over the final 18 holes. For three rounds, Schieffer shot 222, good for a tie for eighth.

Phil Kief (Kingwood, Tx./Kingwood) finished just one stroke behind Schieffer, putting up a 223 for the two days. In his first round of the day, he shot a 72 and finished with a 76. Seth Kaplan (Dallas, Tx./J.J. Pearce) netted a 228 after shooting 76 and 77 today.

Mark Nihill (Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius) bounced back from yesterday's 80 to shoot 76 for both rounds today to finish at 232. Ben Hartman (Jupiter, Fla./Suncoast) put up a 78 in his first round of the day, but then shot an 83 to finish with a 236.

Ball State had the top two finishers and won the event with a team score of 872, which was 20 shots ahead of Wright State. Ball State's Kenny Cook finished first with a 212 after shooting rounds of 72, 70 and 70. Teammate Brandon Boomsma was second with a 215 after shooting 69, 75 and 71.

The match was hosted by Wright State at Green Country Club. The course is a Par 72 and the total distance is 7,007 yards.
