Eagles Finish Sixth at Patriot League Championship
Freshman Ben Hartman shoots 73 in final round

Ben Hartman shot a 73 in his final round at the Patriot League Championship.

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - American University finished sixth at the Patriot League Golf Championship with a team score of 941 for the three rounds of play. Sophomore Chris Schieffer (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum) led American with a three-round score of 234. His best round came in his first one of the tournament, when he fired a 75. Schieffer finished 16th.

In his first Patriot League Championship freshman Ben Hartman (Jupiter, Fla./Suncoast) shot a 19-over par 235 and finished in a tie for 17th. His final-round 73 was the third best score of the day.

Sophomore Phil Kief (Kingwood, Tx./Kingwood) had a three-round total of 239, finishing just four shots in back of Hartman. Overall, Kief finished in a tie for 25th. Seth Kaplan (Dallas, Tx./J.J. Pearce) came in at 240, to finished tied for 27th.
Navy won the event with a team score of 878 and had the top three finishers, including Brian Crum, who shot a 212.

The tournament was played at the Saucon Valley Country Club and the course is a Par 72 with a total distance of 6,622 yards.
