WASHINGTON, DC -- American University's Adam Rosen was named the Patriot League's Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 30, as announced by the league office this afternoon. It is the first Patriot League award for American men's soccer, which is in its inaugural season as a member of the league. Rosen, a senior forward, provided the only scoring in two Patriot League wins this week for the Eagles, tallying two goals. He netted a late second-half goal in American's 1-0 win over Navy on Wednesday, and then notched the game-winner in a 1-0 decision over Lafayette on Saturday. "I am very happy
for Adam as he receives this honor," said American coach Todd West.
"He has been working extremely hard for us this year, and his effort
has been rewarded. Both goals this week could not have come at a bigger
moment, and as a result, we gained two very important victories." American is 2-0-0 in Patriot League play to start the season, and is 4-3-0 overall. The Eagles have four shutout victories to their credit this season, and have not allowed a goal in over 200 minutes of play. The Eagles return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 3, when it hosts No. 12 Loyola at 4:00 p.m. at Reeves Field. American then travels to Bucknell for a Patriot League match on Sunday, Oct. 7, at 1:00 p.m. in Lewisburg, Pa.
