Goes 2-0-1 at Mercer CC College Day April 13, 2002
TRENTON, NJ -- American continued its strong play in the 2002 spring season with a 2-0-1 day at the Mercer CC College Day. American defeated Seton Hall and Princeton, and tied host Mercer. In the opening game of the day, the Eagles' John Fico and Kris Bertsch netted goals to lead American to a 2-1 win over Seton Hall. In the second game, Melvin Espinal and Andrew Herman each scored to help American to a 2-2 tie with host Mercer. The Eagles closed with a 1-0 win over Princeton as Espinal tallied his second of the day. American, the 2001 Patriot League Champions and NCAA Sweet 16 participant, get close its spring slate with two games this weekend. The Eagles face local rival Maryland on Friday, April 19, at 7:00 p.m. in College Park, and then travel to William & Mary for a 7:00 p.m. game on Saturday, April 20, in Williamsburg, VA.
