WASHINGTON — Hosting the American Spring Classic, the AU men's soccer team defeated Ivy League foes Pennsylvania and Princeton to remain perfect in the spring season.
Against Penn, Peter Philipakos scored off an assist by John Fico to give the Eagles a 1-0 victory. Philipakos struck again against Princeton, scoring an unassisted goal to give AU a 1-0 lead. Fico then scored off a feed by Andrew Herman to help seal the 2-0 Eagle victory.
American has had an impressive spring, not allowing a goal to a college opponent while winning six matches.
The Eagles conclude their spring season on Saturday at Towson in a match beginning at 1 p.m.
