Men’s Tennis Makes Strong Debut
Eagles take six of seven at D.C. Tournament

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The American men’s tennis team made a strong debut this weekend, winning six of its seven matches at the D.C. Metro Tournament. The Eagles’ matches were held on Friday and Saturday at the American and Georgetown campuses.

The Eagles’ #1 seed this season, Bence Hamori (Budapest, Hungary/Budapest U. of Physical Ed.) cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win over UMBC’s Dimitri Bondar and continued the outstanding play which earned the senior All-CAA Singles honors last season.

Tushar Garg (Mumbai, India/Bradenton Academy (Fla.) and Josh Procacci (Naples, Fla./Community School of Naples) each also easily defeated their opponents, 6-3, 6-3, and 6-4, 6-2, respectively to give American wins in three of its four Flight-A matches.

Guilaume Tarralle (Paris, France/French International School (Md.), Jonah Fliegelman (Philadelphia, Pa./Central) and Andreas Kulscar (Nuremberg, Germany/Neues Gym. Nuremberg) notched wins on Saturday, giving American a sweep of the B-Flight field.
