Tennis Outlasts Hampton, 4-3 February 15, 2002
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The American men's tennis team improved to 3-0 on the spring season with a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Hampton on Friday. The Eagles swept the doubles matches to secure the win after splitting the singles competition. Josh Procacci (Naples, Fla./Community School of Naples) was a 6-1, 6-2 winner over Glauco Nascimento to improve to 11-2 this year at the No. 2 singles slot. Juan Jaysingh (Rockville, Md./Georgetown Prep) defeated Ladislar Rezac, 7-6, 6-2, in No. four singles and Guillaume Tarralle (Paris, France/French International School [Md.]) picked up a tough 7-6, 0-6, 7-6 win over Amine Elovazzame the No. 5 singles match. In doubles play, Taralle and Jonah Fliegelman (Philadelphia, Pa./Central) defeated Pyung Koo Lee and Nascimento in the No. 1 match, 8-1, while teammates Bence Hamori (Budapest, Hungary/Budapest U. of Physical Ed.) and Kyle Bailey (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) won the No. 2 match against Tomas Ibler and Rezac, 7-5. The No. 3 doubles match was taken by Andreas Kulscar (Nuremberg, Germany/Neues Gym. Nuremberg) and Tushar Garg (Mumbai, India/Brandenton Academy [Fla.]). The Eagles are back in action on Saturday against former CAA rival William & Mary at 10:00 a.m. Singles Matches
