Men's Tennis Falls at William & Mary
Eagles Drop Tough Decision to 57th Ranked Tribe

Bence Hamori and the Eagles faced No. 57 William & Mary on Saturday, falling 7-0 to the Tribe in Williamsburg, Va.

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- American's men's tennis team faced a strong opponent this afternoon, falling to 57th-ranked William & Mary, 7-0, this afternoon. The loss was the first of the spring season for the Eagles, who now stand 3-1 on the young season.

The contest opened with doubles, where the Tribe took two of three matches for the team doubles point. Tushar Garg and Andreas Kulscar combined to win, 8-1, over Joe Brooks and Alex Fish.

In first doubles, William & Mary's Geoffrey Russell and Zack Malmgrem defeated Jonah Fliegelman and Guillaume Tarelle, 8-2. In second double, Jeff Kader and Sean Kelleher topped Bence Hamori and Josh Procacci, 8-4.

William & Mary was even more dominant in singles, dropping just two sets in six matches. American made a run in two of the singles matches, which were extended to a tiebreak. Hamori fell to Geoffrey Russell in first singles, 7-6, 4-6, 1-0 (6). Fish also topped Taralle at fifth singles, 6-1, 6-7, 1-0 (5)

American returns to action next Sunday, Feb. 24, when it travels to Hamilton, N.Y. to face Patriot League rival Colgate for the first time. The Eagles then return home on March 1 to host Richmond in the home opener at 2:30 p.m.
