Andreas Kulcsar was a double winner for the Eagles against UNC-Wilmington.

WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Garnering all three doubles matches plus four of the six singles matchups, the American University men's tennis team beat UNC-Wilmington, 5-2, this weekend.

AU (4-0) was led by Tushar Garg (Mumbai, India/Bradenton Academy (Fla.) Juan Jaysingh (Rockville, Md./Georgetown Prep) and Andrea Kulcsar (Nuremberg, Germany/Neues Gum. Nuremberg), who were winners in both singles and doubles action.

Garg and Kulcsar combined to defeat Rahul Rajkhewa and Mauricio Cabrini at No. 1 doubles, 8-4. Ruben Rivero (Sevilla, Spain/Suffolk County Community College (New York) and Guillaume Tarralle (Paris, France/French International School (Md.) earned a 9-7 decision over Danilo Mendes and Scott Curry at No. 2 doubles. Completing the sweep were Jaysingh and Kyle Bailey (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson), who beat Lee Bailey and Thierry Zysset, 9-8.

Garg went on to defeat Rajkhewa at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-2. Juancarlo Vazquez (San Juan, Puerto, Rico/Centre Educativo Superior Vocational) secured a 6-4, 6-4 win over Bailey at No. 4 singles while Jaysingh was strong with 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 5 singles over Curry. The final win came from Kulcsar at No. 6, who defeated Zysset, 7-6, 6-3.

The Eagles will play at Florida Atlantic on March 10 at 2 p.m.
