Men's Tennis Solid Over Howard, 6-1
April 10, 2003 WASHINGTON -- The American University men's tennis team powered past cross-town rival Howard Thursday afternoon on Reeves Courts, 6-1. The Eagles improve to 11-3 overall and will test their 3-1 record in the Patriot League Friday with a 1 p.m. start against the visiting Lafayette Leopards. Earning his third win in three tries was freshman Sebastien Proisy (Villepreux, France/Santa Clara International College), who defeated Patrick Rodgers at No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-1. Also pulling out strong victories were Jonah Fliegelman (Philadelphia, Pa./Central) and Ruben Rivero (Sevilla, Spain/Suffolk County Community College (New York). Fliegelman beat Jason Foster at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-1 while Rivero took down Norman Walter in straights sets at No. 5 singles. Tushar Garg (Mumbai, India/Bradenton Academy) came out on top over Dwayne Pagon at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 7-6(4). Kyle Bailey (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) earned a win at No. 3 singles over Jibade Thomas, 6-4, 7-5. AMERICAN 6,
