Men's Tennis Blanks Lafayette, 6-0
April 11, 2003 COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- On the heels of a 6-1 win over Howard on Thursday afternoon, the American University men's tennis team cleanly beat Lafayette, 6-0, Friday afternoon at the Tennis Center at College Park. The Eagles improve to 12-3 overall and will travel to West Point, N.Y. to play Army Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. AU beat each Leopard in straight sets in a match that was played indoors due to inclement weather. Doubles matches were not played because of time constraints. Junior Tushar Garg (Mumbai, India/Bradenton) beat Matt Coin at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-1, while junior Guillaume Tarralle (Paris, France/French International School) put H'Cone Thompson away at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-3. At No. 3 singles, freshman Juancarlo Vazquez (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Centre Educativo Superior Vocational) iced Brett Warren, 6-2, 6-0. Junior Juan Jaysingh (Rockville, Md./Georgetown Prep) earned a win at No. 4 singles over Ryan Collins, 6-3, 6-1. Junior Jonah Fliegelman (Philadelphia, Pa./Central) was strong past Dan Seward at No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-2. In the final point, junior Ruben Rivero (Sevilla, Spain/Suffolk County Community College) took down Peter Tifus, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 6 singles. AMERICAN 6,
