Men's Tennis Defaults to Navy April 6, 2003 ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The American University men's tennis team lost to Navy on Sunday afternoon as a result of confusion in the start of the match. The Eagles showed up for the match at 2:10 p.m., believing it started at 3 p.m. The Midshipmen had the match for 12 p.m. In accordance with college tennis rules, a default is automatically awarded when one team arrives 15 minutes late. After waiting the required 15 minutes, the referee in charge of the match awarded the victory to Navy, according to the Navy website, <www.navysports.com>. The Eagles will host non-league Howard on Thursday at Reeves Courts.
