Tennis Cruises Past UNC-Greensboro, 6-1
Feb. 7, 2004 | Results COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The AU men's tennis team cruised past the UNC-Greensboro Spartans, 6-1, to improve to 2-2 for the season. Guillaume Tarralle took home a victory in the No. 1 singles position, winning the first set, 6-2, over Julio Moran. As Moran took the second set, 2-6, Tarralle was able to fight back in the third, winning 6-2. In the No. 3 spot, Juancarlo Vazquez took home his second victory of the weekend, defeating Mac Ladouceus, 6-2, 6-4. Vazquez defeated Hampton's Alin Zorila-DiToiu, 6-2, 6-3, for one of the Eagles only victory against the Pirates. Andreas Kulcsar defeated Pieter Visser, 7-6, 6-1, in the No. 4 spot, while Jonah Fleigelman took crushed Chris Magonone, 6-4, 6-0. Sophomore Sebastian Proisy rounded out the Eagles victories in singles with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Jason Steinhorn in the No. 6 spot. In doubles action, AU took home two of the three victories, with Tarralle and Vazquez defeating Visser and Moran, 8-4 in the No. 2 spot and Fleigelman and Ruben Rivero defeating Levy and Steinhorn 8-4 in the No. 3 spot. The Eagles improve to 2-2 for the season and will return to action against UPenn Sunday, Feb. 15 at 2:30 p.m. AU-6 Doubles: Singles:
