Mens Tennis Cruises to Victory Over Georgetown, 7-0 April 2, 2002
American swept all of the singles matches against the Hoyas. Sophomore Juan Jaysingh (Rockville, Md./Georgetown Prep) won his second straight match, topping Andre Benjamin, 6-4, 7-5. Tushar Garg (Mumbai, India/Bradenton Academy [Fla.]) played his first match of the season at No. 2 singles and was victorious, 6-3, 4-6, (10-7). Senior Bence Hamori (Budapest, Hungary/Budapest U. of Phys. Ed.) won his seventh straight match at No. 1 singles, coming from behind to win, 2-6, 7-6 (8), (11-9). Senior Kyle Bailey (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) also won his seventh straight match, topping Troy Crichlow 6-1, 3-0 (ret.). Guillaume Tarralle (Paris, France/French International School [Md.]) and Andreas Kulcsar (Nuremberg, Germany/Neues Gym. Nuremberg) were also winners at No. 5 and No. 6 singles respectively. The Eagles took two of the three doubles matches to earn the point against the Hoyas. Hamori and Josh Procacci (Naples, Fla./Community School of Naples) took second doubles by a convincing margin of 8-2. Garg and Kulcsar teamed up to win third doubles 8-6. Marc Losher and Erik Bildman defeated Fliegelman and Bailey at No. 1 doubles for the lone Georgetown win of the match. American returns to Reeves Courts for a showdown with the University of Virginia on Thursday at 2:00 p.m.
