Secures Sixth in NCAA's 100 Breaststroke Prelims

AUSTIN, Texas -- American University junior Dom Szabo (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) nabbed the sixth spot in the morning preliminaries of the 100 breaststroke at the NCAA Championships hosted by the University of Texas.
Szabo swam a personal best 53.77 to qualify for tonight's finals that start at 6 p.m. C.S.T. Texas' Brendan Hanson swam the fastest preliminary time in 53.08. Previously, Szabo had reset an 11-year-old Patriot League record in December with a 54.14 before touching at 54.00 at last month's Patriot League Championships.
AU senior Mark Liscinsky (Olney, Md./Sherwood) took 32nd in the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:38.24. He will compete in the 200 backstroke on Saturday.
