AU All-American Dominick Szabo will swim in the consolation round of the 200-yard breaststroke tonight.

AUSTIN, Texas -- In their final day of competition at the NCAA Championships at the University of Texas, American University junior Dom Szabo (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) and senior Mark Liscinsky (Olney, Md./Sherwood) each competed in their third event in the morning preliminaries.

Szabo, who earned All-America honors Friday night by coming in eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke final with a time of 53.77, took 14th in 200-yard breaststroke in 1:57.58 to capture his heat. The time is a lifetime best by two seconds and also resets Patriot League and program records in the process. He will compete in the consolation round starting tonight at 6 p.m. C.S.T.

"He was in the second heat on the outside all by himself," said AU Head Coach Mark Davin.

Liscinsky, not feeling 100-percent, finished the 200-yard backstroke preliminary round in 1:48.97. He also swam the 200-yard individual medley and 200-yard freestyle.
