AU Men's Track Begins Outdoor Campaign at UMBC
Eagles return with two fourth-place finishes

Carlos Hunt placed fourth in the 1500m at the UMBC Invitational.

BALTIMORE, Md. — After a layoff of almost a month, the American University men's track and field team began outdoor competition at the UMBC Big Dawg Invitational. The Eagles earned two fourth-place finishes and had one addition to the all-time top-10 list.

Carlos Hunt finished fourth in the 1500-meters with a time of 3:59.12. He was just two seconds behind the winner in a tight pack up front int he race. Pat MacAdie finished ninth in 4:02.13.

Earning AU's other fourth-place finish was Will Knox in the 5000m. Knox finished in 15:22.16 while teammate Matt Barresi was seventh in 15:35.02.

Ed Topolewski placed sixth for the Eagles in the 400m in 50.75. Joining him in the event was Chris Buerger (51.65), Greg Vogt (52.97) and Michael Edwards (53.74). Buerger's time moves him to sixth all-time at American.

The Eagles' season continues on April 5 as AU competes in the Maryland Invitational.
