WASHINGTON — Phil Gaeta (Herndon, Va./Oakton), Sean Duffy (Holmes, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) and Patrick MacAdie all took home individual victories and qualified for the IC4A Championships as the men's indoor track team competed against The Citadel and host Navy Saturday.
Gaeta captured the 800m dash in a time of 1:53.66, besting the IC4A qualifying time of 1:54.40. Gaeta won the event by nearly five seconds. Duffy, competing in the 1000m, finished first in his event with a time of 2:28.20. Freshman Alex Caudana (Irvine, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic) finished fourth in the 1000 at 2:32.73. Meanwhile, MacAdie captured victory in the 3000m, finishing in 8:28.55.
In addition, Matt Seymour (Rockville, Md./Magruder) dominated the 5000m event in a time of 14:51.61. Teammate Matt Baressi (Laurel, Md./Atholton) finished in second, coming in at 15:10.12.
