Position: Assistant Coach
Experience: Third Season

Katie Riitano begins her third season with the American women’s lacrosse team. As an assistant last season, Riitano helped coach the Eagles to their first-ever 10-win season, as the squad was Patriot League co-Regular Season Champions.

In 2000, as an assistant coach at Randolph-Macon University, Riitano helped guide the Yellow Jackets to their first undefeated season, the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship title and an NCAA Division III Tournament berth.

A 1999 graduate of Fairfield University with a degree in communications, Riitano was a two-time All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) selection. Named Defensive Player of the Week twice while at Fairfield, Riitano captained the team during her senior campaign. Prior to playing with the Stags, Riitano played every game in her first two seasons at George Mason University under Head Coach Jenny Graap.

Riitano is a native of Schenectady, N.Y., and was a standout at Albany Academy for Girls.

She is currently pursuing her graduate certificate in physical education as well as her M.S. in health fitness management at American and resides in Bethesda, Md.
