Wrestling Struggles Against Maryland, Falls 42-8 COLLEGE PARK, MD.-- American wrestling struggled against local foe Maryland on Wednesday, falling 42-8 in a dual meet at Ritchie Coliseum. Nationally-ranked senior Marc Hoffer (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Central) added to his all-time career wins record at American, beating Adam James by a 16-7 major decision for his 114th career win at 149 lbs. At 174 lbs., sophomore Aaron Baker (Amarillo, Tex./Tacosa) also won by major decision (11-2) over Mark Reid. The Eagles could not put away the remaining matches. Heavyweight Jared Hyman (Norcross, Ga./Norcross) fell by a 9-7 decision to Jeremy Duncan, and at 157 lbs., sophomore Aviv Bercovicz (Wauside, N.J./Cean Township) also fell by decision (6-2) to John Antonelli. The Eagles forfeited the 125 and 141 lbs. divisions while the remaing matches were decided by pins. The Eagles are now
4-10 in dual meets this season. The Eagles will remain on the road for
the weekend as they take on Ohio University this Sunday, February 10,
starting at 12:00 p.m. Americans next home meet will be on Sunday,
February 17, versus Old Dominion and Buffalo starting at 12:00 p.m. in
