Three American University wrestlers qualified for the NCAA Championships yesterday at the CAA Championship held in Chapel Hill, NC.

Marc Hoffer (R-Jr., Manheim, PA/Manheim) won the 149 pound weight class with a 14-4 win against George Mason's Adrian Austin in the finals and was named the tournament's "Most Outstanding Wrestler." Ryan Pallinger (Sr., Avon Lake, OH/Avon Lake) took the 197 crown and Denis Alampiev (Sr., Nizhnewartovsk, Russia/Waynesboro, PA) earned one of three tournament wildcard berths after falling in a tie breaker in the 165 pound championship.

The NCAA Championships will take place on March 15-17 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, IA. Alampiev qualified last year while Pallinger is headed to his first NCAA Championship.
