American Wrestling Taken Down by Maryland
Eagles return to action Saturday at Northern Iowa

Aaron Baker recorded his second pin of the season at Maryland.

WASHINGTON -- The American University wrestling team lost its final home match of the season to Maryland, 40-6.

Aaron Baker (Amarillo, Texas/Tascosa) recorded his second pin of the season at the 165-lb. class at 4:31. After Maryland’s Sean Collins had taken him down, Baker recorded a reversal before earning the pin moments later.

Dan Lobsenz (Fairfield, Conn./Choate) lost a tough 6-5 match with Mike Lupa at the 133-lb. class. Lobsenz had earned a takedown to knot the match at five, but Lupa was able to get an escape to win the match.

American will compete next at Northern Iowa on Saturday. The match begins at 8 p.m. EST.
