American Wrestling Drops Two Matches at Davidson Duals
Hyman and Waters take home double victories for the Eagles

Adam Montgomery picked up an individual victory with a 10-8 decision over Jayson Powers of Davidson.

DAVIDSON, N.C. –Daniel Waters (Laurel, Del./Penn State) improved his season record to
31-6 with two technical falls over Davidson’s Jayson Powers (22-7) and Gardner Webb’s Brandon Beach (19-3), as the Eagles fell to the Wildcats in a tight 25-21 dual and 39-8 to Gardner Webb.

Senior Jared Hyman (Norcross, Ga./Norcross) also took home victories for the Eagles, grappling his way past Titus Phile of Gardner Webb, with a 6-2 decision. Hyman also took down Kevin Klein of Davidson with a pin just 10 seconds into the dual. Hyman improves his overall season record to 23-11.

Adam Montgomery (Belmont, Calif./Junípero Serra) defeated Jayson Powers of Davidson with a 10-8 decision to mark his fifth victory of the season, while Tom Kniezewski (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown) defeated Ronnie Lofrese of Davidson with a 13-2 major decision.

The Eagles are now 1-9 overall and will attempt to rebound against cross-town rivals, George Mason, Monday at Bender Arena. Action is slated to start at 7:30 p.m.
