Experience: Third Season

Shawn Enright begins his third season on the American University staff following a prolific career at Ohio University.

Last season, Enright helped guide senior Marc Hoffer to his third NCAA Tournament appearance and senior Willie Harris to his first. In 2000-01, the Eagles coaches led the 1999 and 2000 CAA Wrestlers of the Year, Hoffer and Denis Alampiev, along with senior Ryan Pallinger, into the NCAA Tournament.

At Ohio, Enright was a three-time Mid-American Conference champion and qualified for the NCAA Tournament four times in the 126, 142 and 141 pound weight classes. While competing for the Bobcats at the NCAA Tournament, Enright twice earned All-American status after placing fourth as a true freshman at 125 and then second as a fifth year senior at 141 pounds. He also participated in the elite NWCA East-West All-Star Tournament.

While in high school, the Lebanon, Ohio native was a Junior National All-American in freestyle. Enright was also a Senior High School National Champion and finished his scholastic career as a state champion in his senior year.

Enright, who graduated with a degree in criminology in 1998, was recently married to the former Nikki Poling and the couple resides in the Washington, D.C., metro area.
