Stats | October 10, 2001 Washington, D.C. -- The American women's soccer team lost a tight match this afternoon, falling to Georgetown, 3-2, in double overtime. Georgetown scored again at 56:24 to open the second half when Elizabeth Roberti sent a pass to Courtney Schaub, who tapped in the goal. American answered with a two-goal scoring run just five minutes later. Moore had two unassisted goals only one and a half minutes apart to tie it up at 2-2 and send the game into overtime. The game remained tied through 17 minutes of overtime play until a deflected shot off of American goalkeeper Jessica Bonnell (Hillsboro, N.J./Hillsboro) proved to be the game-winning goal for Georgetown. American moves to 5-4-0, 2-1 in the Patriot League. The Eagles return to league play this Saturday when they play host Army at 7 p.m. in West Point, N.Y.
