GROUP DISCUSSION BOARDS

For purposes of commenting on one another's papers, I have divided the class into four groups:

High Politics and Diplomacy: Parminder, Liz and Shannon's Group.

Politics and Culture: Nathaniel, Christine and Phil H's Group.

Race and Culture: Laura, Duchesse, Phil C. and Cynthia's Group

The Urbanists: Drew, Eric and Kim's Group.

To access your Group Discussion Boards, click on Groups/Group Pages/Your Group/Group Discussion Board

You will be asked to post drafts of your research paper on your Group Discussion Board; you will also be asked (on more than one occasion) to download, comment on* and re-post the papers of other members of your group.  Again, your grade for the course will be based in part on what you have contributed to the work of your classmates.

For useful guides to writing, see Professor April Shelford's Guide to Common Writing Problems and Bob's Tips on Writing.

Note: Everyone is a member of every group.  Although your primary responsibility as commentators rests with the members of your primary group, you are encouraged to read and/or comment on the papers of any and all members of the class.

*FYI, those of you with Word may wish to use Word's "insert comment" function; using colored fonts is also useful in inserting comments and/or proposing alternative wording.
