The Information Technology Landscape in Luxembourg

About the Author

Hello and thank you for visiting this website; my name is Tamara Baker and I am the author.  I selected Luxembourg as the focus of this project because of the country's unique position and role within the European Union.  I am very interested in the great task the European Union Nations are undertaking to retain their rich and individual cultures and at the same time, become part of a larger association that aims to offer greater possibilities for all.  I think this is an important issue for all of us as globablization continues and we expand our abilities to collaborate across many traditional "borders" in new and innovative ways.

Personal Background

I was born in Delaware, the smallest state in the United States, and also the first to sign the Declaration of Independence.

I recevied my B.A. in Communication Arts, magna cum laude, from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and am now completing my M.B.A. at American University.  My focus is Management of International Business and I plan to graduate in the Fall of 2000.

I am a senior manager at Discovery Communications, Inc., a worldwide global media corporation which operates television networks (Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel, Animal Planet, Travel Channel, Discovery Health Channel) in over 140 countries.  I most enjoy working on projects which involve business process transformation to align tactical operations with strategic objectives.

I am married and live in Glen Echo, MD, a small town just outside of Washington, D.C.

Thank you again for visiting and please feel free to write me if you have any questions or would like to discuss any aspects of the Information Technology Landscape in Luxembourg.
