|
![]()
Welcome to "The Landscape of Information Technology in Latvia." This site offers a comprehensive view of issues related to technology in Latvia, including privatization, the telecommunications infrastructure, the labor market and the legal environment. After more than ten years of independence, Latvia currently has a stable government and relatively strong currency. The Republic continues to undergo constant change as it works to achieve greater economic development and revamp its economy for eventual integration into various Western European political and economic institutions. A key aspect of this economic development will be the development of the information technology sector. Currently, Latvia has inadequate infrastructure to achieve significant advancement in this area, but progress is being made regularly but slowly . Please click on the links to the left for more information about each topic. This report has been prepared as a part of the "Impacts of National Information Technology Environments on Business" course at the Kogod School of Business at American University.
