About the Authors: Gissel Gazek is studying to obtain a dual degree (MA/MBA) at the School of International Service (SIS) and the Kogod School of Business at American University in Washington D.C. Her studies at SIS are specialized in comparative and regional studies in Latin America, more specifically, the southern cone countries. At the business school her areas of concentration include Management of Global information Technology and Corporate Finance. At SIS he specializes in international political economy and management information systems. At Kogod, his areas of concentration include IT management and international business. Sebastian has worked mainly in building international rural electrification systems and for telecommunications engineering and Internet broadcasting firms. Sebastian was born in Buenos Aires, immigrating to the United States as a young child. He too has significant family living in Argentina. Because of their personal ties to the country, both authors selected to conduct research and analysis on the information technology revolution in the Republic of Argentina. Moreover, their personal interests, having studied regional issues as well as the expanding climate of international information and communication technologies expansion, also fueled their enthusiasm for this topic. |
