·         Member of Executive Team. Work with other members of TIDCO’s management team to integrate overall corporate and information technology strategies, as well as marketing strategies to attract high-tech industries to the country

·         Responsible for TIDCO's Internet marketing initiatives.  These systems are used to market Trinidad and Tobago internationally.  Supervised team responsible for TIDCO’s e-business projects, including www.visittnt.com, www.entertaintnt.com and www.worldbeattnt.com.  Tourism site www.visittnt.com attracts over 500,000 hits per month, rising to about 2M for the Carnival period (Dec-Mar). Site has received several awards.

·         Develop Internet marketing strategies for the country’s entertainment, tourism, marine, and IT industries

·         Responsible for site look-and-feel for all TIDCO’s websites.

·         Manage an IS budget of TT$2.5 million (US$0.5M)

·         Develop plans to integrate new technologies into TIDCO’s structure

·         Manage enterprise-wide projects.

·         Work with staff to translate strategic objectives into functional systems requirements

·         Work with IS suppliers, consultants, etc to translate functional requirements into technical specifications and source/develop solutions to those specifications within time and financial constraints

·         Recruit and select staff needed to support the day to day running of all systems

·         Manage day-to-day operations of the Department in its liaison with customers and suppliers.

·         Responsible for the overall management and implementation of TIDCO’ s corporate Windows NT based local and wide area client-server networks.

·         Implemented the first local conversion from Lotus Notes to Microsoft Exchange. Conversion of 150 users in 8 locations done in-house by 3 staff members in 4 months with limited support from consultants.

·         Oversaw implementation of SQL Server based Financial Management System (USL Financials) and Payroll System (ParaPay)

·         Oversaw implementation of HR Information System (Paradigm)

RESEARCH HISTORY HIGHLIGHTS

·         Air Pollution - Studied air pollution in large cities and the effect of topography on the ambient air quality, with respect to siting sold waste and hazardous waste incinerators. 1993

·         High Temperature Spouted Bed Fluid Dynamics - Design and study of a high temperature spouted bed reactor for combustion of municipal solid wastes. Studied the fluid dynamics at high temperatures and compared them to room temperature data. Studied the stability of a spouted bed combustor with a draft tube, using propane as fuel. 1991-1992

·         Spouted Bed Drying - Designed and developed a spouted bed dryer for slurry and paste drying. Studied hydrodynamics and drying characteristics of the dryer and the pastes. Studied the variables affecting the scale-up of such a dryer. Applied classical design of experiment theory in this project, and introduced it via a seminar series to other graduate students. 1988-1990
