Information Technology in the UAE

About the Author
Lisa E. Rosenthal authored this assessment of the telecommunications infrastructure in the UAE.

Born and raised in Sterling Heights, Michigan, I came out to DC in 1993.   My undergraduate career was at the American University where I received a BA in Political Science and Environmental Policy.  For the last five years, I have been working in the defense arena, for the U.S. Government and, previously, for a defense contractor.  I am currently a second year MBA student in the KOGOD School of Business at the American University (again) where I am concentrating on MoGIT (Management of Global Information Technology) and International Business Management.

The United Arab Emirates was selected as a topic for this assessment for a number of reasons.  First and foremost, my interests lie in Middle Eastern studies.   Second, I have been casually following the Al-Thuraya satellite project that is based in the UAE.  Please feel free to contact me regarding the content of this page or with feedback.  My e-mail address is lerose2@earthlink.net.
