Let me begin by saying thank you for your attention.
If you have made it this far into the project, then I assume you were not
bored to tears and hopefully found some pertinent information to add to
your knowledge. I was fascinated by Russia as an undergraduate Political
Science major at the University of New Hampshire in the early 90's.
With the fall of the Evil Empire, the enigmatic Soviet Union was finally
opening to the western world. I continued my study of Russia after
my undergraduate studies as a linguist in the US Navy. I completed
the extremely demanding Defense Language Institute in the Russian language
and worked for Naval Intelligence and the National Security Agency (NSA).
Although this work was interesting, I felt the opportunities in the private
sector afforded much greater potential as the NIS began to open up to world
markets. It seemed logical to continue my career pursuits by returning
to school. I am currently an MBA student at the Kogod School of Business
Administration at American University and will complete the degree in May
of 2001. My concentrations for this degree are in International Business
and Global Information Technology. Obviously, this project was a
perfect assignment to merge the disciplines of Russian business and technology
with those of its society and economy. I hope you have found it useful
and
somewhat interesting. If you would like to contact me to ask
any questions, give comments, tell me you think I'm wrong in my analysis
or anything else, then please contact me via e-mail at thclinton@hotmail.com.
