Dalya Luttwak: Hidden

November 11–January 18

Dalya Luttwak was born in Israel's Northern Galilee, on a Kibbutz situated where three tributaries meet to create the Jordan river. Her parents escaped Czechoslovakia just as World War ll started and began to put down "roots" into a new soil in the parched Middle East.

In a poem called "From The Book Of Questions", Pablo Neruda asked "Why Do The Trees Conceal The Splendor Of Their Roots?"

In this sculpture series, Luttwak digs literally and metaphorically to study the "Hidden" structures and shapes of plant roots, exploring the differences and relationships between parts above ground and parts below within the same plant.
