Youth Participation in the 2008 Elections

Youth played a critical role in the 2008 elections cycle both as voters and as poll workers. However, while youth involvement has been on the rise, there are still substantial barriers that prevent youth from being more involved in the elections process. This panel will discuss the barriers students face as voters and how they are organizing to address those barriers; methods to encourage student participation in elections as voters and as poll workers; what being a student poll worker means and how students are helping reform the elections process.
