This chapter begins the story of globalization over time with a look at some of the earliest examples and issues from history, Even these earliest examples illustrate the many complexities that follow in the wake of trade and its impacts. This discussion is followed by an interview with Dr. Colin Bradford of American University who will comment on these old issues and bring them up to-date with respect to modern trade and devlopment issues.
