This chapter focuses on the evolution of trade disputes and attempts
to establish multilateral dispute settlement mechanisms. This
evolution begins with a look at disputes in the GATT and later
in the WTO and how they differ. Then, the guest is a current practitioner,
the Chief Economist at the Office of the US Trade Representative,
David Walters. The case study looks at the Sea Turtle dispute
and acts to limit shrimp imports to protect them.
