This chapter discusses Non-tariff barriers are a growing trade problem. It has always been difficult to ascertain the value placed on saving certain species and attempts to value the cost of protection for tuna, turtle and lobster. The guests are two professors from American University, Maria Green Cowles and Caroline Fawcett. They will discuss non-tariff barriers from a trade and a labor perspective. The case is the US-Canada dispute over beer and taxes on cans for recycling.
