Chapter 9:

Energy trade is important and varied in the world economy. Three cases examine oil, plutonium, and electricity. The case is Chris Simpson, a professor in the School of Communication at American University. He talks about trade, political and environmental issues related to building a pipeline for export of oil from the Caspian Sea area. The case in focus describes the case of the Ogoni people in Nigeria and the pollution resulting from the massive oil industry there that is intended for export. This has led to civil and political conflict.
